But what about in the summer? - Rugs can soften a space and become the anchor point in the room from which everything flows from. We tend to recommend a light flatweave , cotton or jute rug in the summer and a more chunkier knit in the winter. 

Throw a rug on the floor over dark carpet to help brighten up the mood of your space. If you are renting buying the right rug can hide a myriad of problems and horrible carpet or tiles.
